Please join us in welcoming our new instructor Kat Jonsson !
 
 

 

Kat  completed her teaching certification at the Pilates center in Boulder, Colorado in 2002 after earning a bachelor of science degree in Exercise and Sports science from the University of Utah .  Prior to owning her own studio in Park City, Utah for 10 years, she taught group fitness classes, weight training and worked as a back country guide.

She is intrigued by the ever-deepening layers of the Pilates method and the many things that it involves - natural movement, balance, focus and empowerment thru self awareness.  Teaching Pilates  and having the ability to facilitate and enhance those qualities in others continues to be an inspiration in many ways.

In her free time, Kat enjoys hiking, running, cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

 

Kat will be  teaching Privates, Duets, and the new Butts and Bellies class as well as taking over some of our Reformer and springboard classes!  Come and give her a try she rocks!

What is Pilates?

Developed in the 1920’s by Joseph H. Pilates, this safe well rounded approach to exercise focuses on flexibility, core strength, a return of muscular balance, coordination, and improved posture. Since its beginning people have been experiencing amazing changes when they practice Pilates. The workout leaves their mind and body feeling stimulated, rejuvenated, and alert. They are stronger, more flexible, and more “connected” to their bodies.

Pilates Is For Everyone !

Young, old, sedentary, or athletic. Gentle enough for pregnant women and challenging enough for the professional athlete. Many Orthopedic doctors, Chiropractors, and Physical Therapists now refer their patients to Pilates for help with their fitness and recovery needs.



When You Sign Up

Our instructors will design a program for you based on a mutual assessment of your specific needs and goals. Introductory sessions target developing stability, focus, control, and an understanding of the basic principles of Pilates. Learning Pilates is a process, rather than an event, and we take great care to work with each person at his or her own pace. A minimum of 5 privates are required prior to joining an equipment class. If you are recovering from a recent injury or have special needs due to chronic illness or pain we recommend a minimum of 10 private sessions prior to joining a class. 
Private instruction ensures progression into classes  is safe and effective.

 CARDIO TOO!

Need to get some cardio in this winter? Private session clients are welcome to come early or stay late to spend time on one of our great pieces of cardio equipment. Maximum 30 minutes. Sign up for your favorite piece of equipment or try something new!
